Signal Conditioners and Loop Powered Transmitters
Signal Conditioners and Loop Powered Transmitters both convert electrical signals from one format to another format. They provide one or more of the following functions:
- Signal Amplification
- Electrical Isolation
- Linearization
Loop powered transmitters typically have a 4-20mA or 0-20mA output in which device power and the signal output are both carried on the same pair of wires. Signal conditioners normally have either a mA or voltage output and power is carried on a different wire pair than the signal output.
