Dew Point Meters and Transmitters
Dew point measurement is critical for controlling moisture in compressed air systems, clean rooms, and other humidity-sensitive applications. Many modern instruments also include humidity readings, offering a more complete picture of environmental conditions. The field of dew point measurement consists of the following types of instruments:
- Dew Point Sensors – Can be either capacitive or chilled mirror; you can read about the pros and cons here. The temperature range and required accuracy often dictate which sensor technology is best for your application.
- Dew Point Transmitters – Their main purpose is to convert the sensor’s output into a format other systems can use (e.g., 0–10 VDC, 4–20 mA, RS485, Ethernet, WiFi, Cellular). These are designed to integrate seamlessly with control and monitoring solutions.
- Dew Point Meters – Have a built-in display and can be handheld, making them ideal for spot checks and on-site readings.
- Data Loggers – Many instruments include data logging features, allowing you to store and retrieve historical data for analysis and record-keeping.
