Thermocouple Connectors

Thermocouple connectors are used to connect one thermocouple wire to another wire.  The connector provides a quick and convenient means of making and breaking the connection.  The pins and sockets of the thermocouple connector should be made of the same material as the thermocouple wire so as not to introduce any error into the measurement.  IOthrifty thermocouple connectors use ANSI color coding standards for quick visual identification of the thermocouple calibration for which the connector is designed.

The two most common types of connectors are standard-sized and miniature-sized connectors. Standard-sized connectors have round pins, while miniature-sized connectors have flat pins. Subminiature thermocouple connectors (flat pin) from different manufacturers are normally interchangeable.The body size and shape may be different but a male connector(connector with pins) from one manufacturer will normally plug into a female(connector with sockets) connector from a different manufacturer.
