The FieldLogger is an extremely versatile, high speed and expandable data logging and data acquisition system. It can store data to its internal memory or send data in real time to a computer. With the optional Ethernet interface it can connect to the Novus cloud which allows remote viewing from any device with internet access.
Built in Analog and Digital I/O
The FieldLogger contains 8 analog inputs which can be configured for thermocouples, Pt100, Pt1000, voltage and current signals. It also has 2 relay outputs and 8 digital ports individually configurable as inputs or outputs.
128 Virtual Channels
The FieldLogger may be programmed for up to 128 virtual channels. These channels can be used to perform mathematical calculations and logical operations on the measured values or other virtual channels. The virtual channels may be used to trigger alarms, activate digital and relay outputs and also send e-mail notifications.
Highly Expandable
The FieldLoggers RS485 interface is a Modbus network allowing it to operate as a Modbus RTU master or slave. Multiple FieldLoggers may be connected allowing the master to read and log up to 64 external channels. The FieldLogger can also connect to other Modbus devices via its Modbus RS485 network.
On-Board Memory
All FieldLoggers contain 512K internal memory for storing logged data. The stored data may be transferred to a computer downloaded to a flash drive via the FieldLoggers USB port. FieldLogger has one USB interface to be connected to a computer (for configuration, monitoring and data download) and another USB port for plugging a flash drive for data retrieval. The 512k logging basic memory is used to store data and it can be greatly expanded with an SD card (available only on models with HMI).
Multiple Connectivity Options
The FieldLogger has a large variety of connectivity options. Every FieldLogger has two USB ports. One is used for connection to a computer for configuration and data acquisition, the other USB port is used to download data through a flash drive. Each FieldLogger also has an RS485 port which is used to connect it to a Modbus network or to connect it to other Modbus devices including other FieldLoggers. The RS485 interface enables it to operate as Modbus RTU Master reading remote devices or to operate as Modbus RTU Slave for communicating with off-the-shelf SCAD software. An optional second RS485 port can be used to connect to an HMI. There is also an optional Ethernet connection which allows the FieldLogger to act as an FTP server for its stored data, send email messages and serve a simple web page with data from the device.
Optional HMI
The optional color HMI is available for local indication or configuration. The HMI allows the active channels to be monitored in tabular or graphical format. The HMI also alarm monitoring a well as configuration for the FieldLogger. The HMI is integrally mounted on the FieldLogger but because it is connected via RS485, it may also be remotely mounted. The HMI is bundled with the FLDLOG-485-ET-HMI, FLDLOG-24V-485-ET-HMI, and may be field installed in the FLDLOG-485-ET, FLDLOG-24V-485-ET.
A Complete Software Suite
The FieldLogger has a variety of software options, most which are available at no additional charge.
NOVUS Cloud IoT Platform (Free Starter Plan)
FieldLoggers with the Ethernet option can access the Novus Cloud.
The NOVUS Cloud is an IoT platform solution for monitoring devices for process data online visualization. Ready-to-use with the FieldLogger and NOVUS smart IoT devices, it is the perfect choice for customers with low IT infrastructure or with requirements of unified data from multiple devices at multiple locations. The NOVUS Cloud can receive information of any kind from the IoT devices, store them in the cloud database and present the data in elegant dashboards. Operation or management staff can get online awareness about the process deviations through E-mail notifications, besides the online dashboard alarms. Hosted on cloud server, NOVUS Cloud is accessible worldwide on the internet from any computer or mobile device.

FieldLogger Configuration Software (Free Download)
The FieldLogger Configurator is configuration, free downloadable data collection and analysis software for the FieldLogger. The program allows you to explore all the functionalities and resources of the devices, and communicates through the USB, TCP-IP and RS485 interface. A complete tool, it allows the graphic and analysis of multiple data, visualization of alarms, performance of mathematical calculations and the issuance of reports, in addition to the export of data to multiple formats. It also provides diagnosis making it easier to perform tests and detect problems.
FieldChart Supervisory and Data Acquisition Software (Lite version available as a free download)
FieldChart is a software used for monitor and register data acquired from NOVUS products. It generates real time trends and data lists that can be exported in usable formats like a spread sheet. There are two versions available: FieldChart-Lite and FieldChart-64C. The FieldChart-Lite can register 8 simultaneous channels and it is available for free. The FieldChart-64C can register up to 64 simultaneous channels.
FieldLogger USB Drivers (free download)
The USB drivers install a virtual comm port which allows communication with a FieldLogger connected to the USB port using serial port I/O. The USB drivers are installed by the Field Logger Configuration software. This stand alone driver is only needed if FieldLogger Configuration Software is not installed
