The BX-500 Blackbody Calibrator provides a stable, high-performance calibration standard for verifying the accuracy of non-contact infrared temperature sensors, including in-line infrared pyrometers and handheld IR thermometers.

Designed for calibrations up to 500°C, the BX-500 features a large 2.25 inch (57 mm) temperature-controlled blackbody target with an emissivity of 0.95. The isothermal target can be controlled in set-point increments of 0.1° across a temperature range of 50°C to 500°C.

The BX-500 offers dependable calibration performance with accuracy of ±0.5°C at 100°C and ±1.8°C at 500°C. Temperature stability is ±0.1°C at 100°C and ±0.3°C at 500°C, making it well suited for routine verification of infrared temperature measurement devices.

Large Blackbody Target
The 2.25 inch target provides a practical calibration surface for a variety of infrared sensors and thermometers. Its 0.95 emissivity helps provide a consistent reference target for non-contact temperature calibration.

Higher Precision Calibration Option
For applications requiring even higher precision, a contact calibration well is located directly behind the blackbody surface. When used with an optional digital RTD thermometer and calibrated secondary probe, accuracies of ±0.1°C can be achieved.

The BX-500 includes an AC power cable and is available for 230 VAC or 110 VAC power requirements. Heating time is approximately 40 minutes to maximum temperature, and cooling time is approximately 45 minutes from maximum temperature to 100°C.
