RTD and NTC Thermistor Temperature Sensors
RTDs and Thermistors are a resistor temperature sensor which change resistance with temperature changes. The most common RTDs are made from platinum elements which have a base resistance of 100 ohms at 25°C and are often referred to as PT100 sensors.
Thermistors are normally fabricated from metal oxides and are less standardized than RTDs in their base resistance and temperature resistance curve.
Both RTDs and thermistors provide high accuracy although RTDs feature a broader temperature range.
