The ATR244 is a 1/16th DIN PID controller that has all of the features you need for even the most demanding process control applications. It has a high-performance display which ensures excellent readability and can be programmed with NFC/RFID technology via our App without the need for wiring and device power supply. It accepts most process sensors allowing it to work in temperature, pressure, flow and just about any other control application.
Universal Input
The ATR244 can accept inputs from most temperature and process sensors. The ATR244-12ABC has a single analog input and ATR244-23BC-T has two analog inputs. The inputs can be configured for the following signal types:
- Thermocouples: K, S, R, J, T, N, E, B
- RTDs: PT100, PT500, PT1000, Ni100,
- Thermistor: PTC1K, NTC10K (ß 3435K)
- Process Signals: 0-1Vdc, 0-5Vdc, 0-10 Vdc, 0/4-20mA, 0-60 mVdc
- Potentiometer: 1-150 KΩ
Models with Single or Dual Input
The ATR244-12ABC has a single analog input and ATR244-23BC-T has two analog inputs. The dual input model can manage two processes with two separate control loops or the two inputs can be used to perform mathematical operations between the two processes (sum, difference, average).
Multiple Outputs
The ATR244 is offered in two models and both models offer relays, pulse outputs for SSRs and analog outputs.

Autotune or Manual Tune
All PID controllers need to be tuned to a process for optimal control. The ATR244 can be set to automatic tuning which allows the controller to perform the tuning function or it can be set to manual tune for those users who want full control over the tuning process.
Dual Action (Heating-Cooling)
The ATR244 can be used in both a heating and cooling mode. Many controllers can perform heating or cooling but can only operate in one mode at a time. That is they can operate in either heating or cooling. ATR244 is suitable also for systems requiring a combined heating-cooling action.
Digital Input Functions
Both models offer two dedicated digital inputs. The two SSR pulse outputs of the ATR244-23BC-T are mulit-function and programmable as digital inputs or digital outputs. The digital inputs can be used to perform various functions including:
- Changing setpoints
- Activating/Deactivating Control
- Switch Between Automatic and Manual Control
- Switch Between Heating and Cooling Modes
- Tare the Analog Input
- Manually Reset Alarms
- Activate/Deactivate the Timer
RS485 Modbus Communications(ATR244-23BC-T only)
The ATR244-23BC-T is equipped with RS485 and can receive/broadcast data via serial communication using MODBUS RTU protocol. This function enables the
control of multiple controllers connected to a supervisory system(SCADA). The controller can only be configured as a slave.
Analog Retransmission of Setpoint, Process Variable or Current Transformer Input
When the analog output is not used for control purposes it may be used to retransmit the process value, setpoint or the current transformer input. The retransmission of the current transformer is only available on the ATR244-23BC-T.
Timers
The ATR244 has two timers that can be used independently or linked together. The timers can be used to control the alarm outputs.
Heater Break Alarm (ATR244-23BC-T)
The ATR244-23BC-T has a 50mA input that will accept a user supplier current transformer which can be used to monitor heater power. If there is a break in the heater power, the controller can activate an alarm.
