- Temperature Ranges from -40°C to 2000°C (Model Dependent)
- Short-Wavelength Models for Better Accuracy on High-Temperature Targets and Metals
- General Purpose Models for Most Other Applications
- Rescalable 4-20 mA Output
- Fully Configurable via USB Interface (Cable and Windows Software Included)
- Use the USB or Analog Output Only, or Both Together
PyroUSB infrared temperature sensors by Calex measure temperatures from -40°C to 2000°C accurately and consistently, with an outstanding response time of 200 ms. The 4 to 20 mA output is compatible with almost any indicator, controller, recorder or data logger without the need for special interfacing or signal conditioning.
A choice of measurement wavelengths is available to suit a range of applications.
General-purpose PUA8 (8-14 μm) models can measure from -40°C to 1000°C. They are suitable for measuring high-emissivity materials such as paper, thick plastics, food, pharmaceuticals, rubber, asphalt and painted surfaces. These models are capable of measuring very low temperatures, so they are ideal for sub-zero measurements in the food, logistics and storage industries.
Short-Wavelength PUA2 (2.2 μm) models have a choice of temperature ranges from 45°C to 2000°C. They provide a more accurate reading when measuring low-emissivity materials such as many reflective metals. They are also capable of measuring through glass viewports.
The PUA2 sensor is a great choice for iron, steel and stainless steel. Nonferrous metals especially copper and aluminum are more application sensitive. Please contact IOThrifty if you need to measure the temperature of nonferrous metals to discuss your application.
Free Sofware
The USB connection is used for configuring the sensor and can also be used to read the measurement into a standard computer with the free software. Two software packages CalexConfig and CalexSoft 2 are available to download free of charge.
CalexConfig - Simple, touch-friendly software for one sensor, with the following features:
- Temperature Display
- Data Logging to Comma-Separated Text File (Compatible with Excel)
- Scrolling Temperature Chart
- Sensor Configuration
CalexSoft 2 - Multi-channel software, features include:
- All the Features of CalexConfig, plus:
- View Multiple Sensors in the Same Software
- Customize the Screen Layout with Graphs and Temperature Displays
- Scroll between Multiple Screens of Temperature Information
- Configurable Usernames and Access Levels (Admin and Operator)
Optional Air/Water Cooled Housing
The air/water cooled housing allows the sensor to withstand ambient temperatures above the normal limit. Depending on the degree of cooling required, air or water may be used as the cooling fluid. To prevent condensation forming on the lens, an air purge collar is included with this item. The air/water cooled housing must be ordered with the sensor and cannot be fitted by the user.
