The STR551 is a universal input 1/8 DIN indicator/panel meter with a host of features allowing it to be used as a data logger, on/off controller, analog/digital transmitter and totalizer. Its easy read screen can display data in a digital and graphic format. With a universal power supply only one model is required to for all applications.
Universal Sensor Input
The STR551 can accept inputs from almost any type of process sensor. It supports the following sensors:
- Thermocouples - Type K, S, R, J, T, E, N, B
- RTDs - PT100, PT500, PT1000, Ni100
- Thermistors - PTC1K, NTC10K (ß 3435K)
- Voltage/Current - 0-60mVdc, 0-10Vdc, 0-20mA, 4-20mA
- Potentiometer: 6KΩ, 150KΩ
Fast Sample Rate
The sample rate of the STR551 is adjustable and can be set as fast as 42Hz (4.2ms) or as slow as 4Hz(240ms). Other speed setting are also available including 50Hz and 60Hz which is useful for AC noise rejection.
Alarms/Control Outputs
The STR551 has two 2A relays which can be used for control and alarm purposes. The alarms can have hysteresis making them suitable for on/off control. They can be configured for manual reset so the STR551 can even act as a limit controller.
Analog Output
The STR551 can have either a 4-20mA(0-20mA) or 0-10Vdc analog output that can be used for retransmission of the process variable or alarm values. The analog output can also be directly controlled by Modbus communications.
Totalizer
The analog input can be a totalizer for flow applications. In this mode the instantaneous input will sum over time.
Graphical Display
The easy to read screen features an intuitive multilingual interface and a 128x64 pixel graphical OLED display (monochrome yellow).
Visualization options include bargraph and process trend with programmable sampling time.
Math Functions
The STR551 has the ability to display peak, totalizer and sum functions.
Data Logger
The STR551 implements a basic data logger function. It stores the process data in EEPROM memory, the sampling time can be selected from 1 to 3600s with a total 2,500 stored points. The data can be read via Modbus or via wireless reading the RFID memory directly.

The two digital inputs are multi-function and can be used for the following

Serial Communications
The STR551 is equipped with RS485 and can receive and broadcast data via serial communication using MODBUS RTU protocol.
USB or NFC Programming
The STR551 may be programmed by USB or NFC using either LabsoftView (Windows/USB) or MyPixSys NFC App.
Universal Power Supply
The universal power supply allows the STR551 to operate from a wide variety of power sources ranging from 24 to 230 Vac/dc.
