A thermistor is a type of temperature sensor that changes its resistance as its temperature changes. If the resistance decreases as the temperature increases, the thermistor is said to be an NTC thermistor where NTC stands for Negative Temperature Coefficient. If the resistance increases as the temperature increases, the thermistor is said to be a PTC thermistor in which the PTC stands for Positive Temperature Coefficient.
