Thermocouple wire may be joined by any valid method that provides electrical continuity. This includes twisting wires together, welding, clamping or through some form terminal block connection. However, the most common method is to add a thermocouple mating connector to each wire. A male connector(pins) should be attached to one wire and a female connector(sockets) to the other wire.
