The HUTX1-485 transmits data using RS485 communications with Modbus RTU protocol. Neither one of these is specific to a computer or operating system. In order to communicate with a computer running Linux, your computer would need an RS485 port. If your computer does not have an RS4854 port but has a USB port there are many USB to RS485 ports on the market that support Linux. You also would need software that supports Modbus protocol. Modbus is an extremely common protocol. If you are not using a specific software already there are also many software products available, some open source, which you should be able to use.
