Can the HUTX1-485 used to monitor stored grain...say in a corn bin and covered with grain...dusty environment HUTX1-485 Low Cost Humidity and Temperature Sensor with RS485 Modbus Communications
The HUTX1-485 is a low cost humidity/temperature sensor that transmits the data via Modbus RS485. It is designed to monitor ambient environments. It may work in dusty environment but there are a few issues that could be problematic. If the dust is combustible this is not a suitable product since the HUTX1-485 is not rated for combustible or explosive environments. If the dust is not combustible the HUTX1-485 may be suitable as long as the dust does not foul the sensor. There is a filter screen protecting the sensor but its effectiveness depends on the size and concentration of the dust. This will be concern for most humidity/temperature sensors. If the dust concentration is high and the particle size small if you can provide air flow around the sensor(eg. from a small fan), that should enable the sensor to operate in that environment.
